Updated the iPad on iOS7 but not my ancient iPhone 3GS. Seems cartoonish, not sure it'll work that much better than the previous one. Time will tell.

Before updating ensure you have a full backup of your device either to icloud or to your computer.

Just updating my iPad now and noticed that my 3GS has obviously reached the stage of being obsolete Mind you, I'd like to return to a less power hungry iOS on my phone - the battery lasts no time at all these days (and it's a new battery!)

I don't think this new iOS allows random photographs to be posted online though, shame

I suppose I should look at it seeing as we'll likely be getting calls about "where do I find this" or "It looks different" now...

It does look different, but everything is essentially the same. The icons have changed and the keyboard is now light in colour. It looks quite crisp, actually.

Like a crisp cartoon? I wasn't enamoured by the few screenshots I've seen but I've not used it yet and I'm not a big Apple fan either anyway so accept I may be biased!

There are some nice new things; accessing the controls by flicking the screen at the bottom, for example.

Unless that's always been there and I've missed it

No, its new, but they've missed a trick, alOng with wifi, 3G burns battery so i nrmally switch it off, this takes going into settings though, they should have made toggling between gprs and high speed data a function of the control center, or at least made it customisable.

Welcome to the world of Apple. This is what its all about! - prematurely diminishing support for previous models to push you into buying the new model.

I had a guy In my shop today 'the apple type' and was showing me iOS7 and the biggest selling point for him was that the photo's are now in date order. Whoopie do! Google picassa has been doing that for many years!

He didn't believe me when I said picassa and google drive were free and that google spend millions of pounds writing software and creating resources just to give them away free. Apple are the complete opposite and charge for everything. Some people are oblivious to the very clever marketing techniques and myths that surround apple hardware.

Google spend millions to ultimately bring in millions of advertising though...
