Going on holidays to Republic Of Ireland....how can i pick up the internet without having wifi in our holiday cottage...is there a mobile way of doing it ?

If you have a relatively recent iPhone or android device you can turn in the mobile hotspot functionality the one caveat I would say is check roaming data tariffs as you will get stung big time if dependent in your network.

How do you do that? This tablet has only ever run off my own wifi...doubt if there is a mobile hotspot funtionality !!

Edit....i see now...can run off my wife's mobile phone

Quick edit seeing as what I wrote was wrong.

You could pick up a mobile mifi router that works off a 3g sim. Not sure what price they cost but a €20 top up should give 1-2 gig of data. Router shouldn't cost more than €50. Check out the irish mobile companies for more info.

or pretty much any Windows 8 phone (my old 7 did as well so probably any Win 7/7.5/7.8 as well). Certainly a local SIM/mifi will be the way to go unless you want limited usage.
