I assumed, given that Al was involved and the first app mentioned was the fart app, that this wasn't the most serious thread in the world and a small amount of light hearted ribbing wouldn't cause offence. My bad.

You are Buffy the vampire slayer https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/rant-...29-my-bad.html and I claim my £5!

Edit: the [email protected] app is great if you want AO update notifications sent to you that you can't open

I would draw your attention to post #9. I not only refute your claim to £5, but stake my own claim for said sum by virtue of using said expression as described in my post.

Didn't realise you had posted in said thread, mainly because I was looking for your avatar.

this

suffice to say it takes a little bit more than light hearted banter & ribbing to offend me

i'm actually quite disappointed in myself for succumbing to the smartphone thing. for a while i was revelling in the fact i had a crap old nokia, and revelling even more in the fact that i'd even binned the contract to go on pauper-spec PAYG. alas, i do indeed feel like a fanny and a sheep - i blame my old workplace for giving me a posh phone and myself for getting used to using one.

I remember when you were given it, you weren't convinced, so it obviously changed your mind.

The trouble is, they're genuinely, and regularly, really useful things to have.

the work one was an old 3G job, so it ran on some ancient version of ios (or whatever it's called). it was rage-inducingly slow at everything and wasn't compatible with a lot of apps, but clearly it got me unwittingly accustomed to having one. the new one is bloody brilliant - like going from an austin allegro to a lotus elise
