Hmmm iphone 4S v samsung SIII mini

Which should I buy ... both 24 mths 27p/m

The deal with the SIII is with virgin media insurance included 8GB internal memory 1GB RAM

4S - on O2 - 16GB internal memory 512MB RAM - better camera / front facing camera and ICloud Facetime

So what do ya reckon?

I pay 15 per month for my phone, a Galaxy Ace2, so to
me 27 per month is a lot of money. What do you get
that equates to the extra 12 per month with these phones?

Oh, I get unlimited texts and 500 minutes and 1GB data.

I'm not sure I could make unlimited amounts of calls, I
haven't got time

Can they make tea?

Get the Samsung Mini S3. Much better phone. The new iPhone 5 is pretty much the same spec as my old Samsung Galaxy S2 !!! That's how far behind Apple phones are.

27 a month is a lot though.

My wife just got the Mini s3 with unlimited texts, 500 minutes of calls and 1GB of data for 15 a month on EE. That's a 24 month contract too.

Oh....forget the camera specs, the samung cameras are far better than the iPhone attempts. My mates all have iPhone and are jealous of my old Samsung in that respect.

Iphone 4S
+ = Smaller (if thats what you like)
+ = better screen quality (samsung displays tend to be oversaturated)
+ = More accessories (not sure on quality)
- = No expandable memory (Samsung upto 32gb?)
- = Less RAM
- = Operating system lacks customisation
- = Smaller screen

Iphones are great for the average joe imo but android phones offers more.

Thanks for the reply

I've currently got a 2 year old HTC desire, so I'm thinking both phones are an upgrade.... just got to decide which one

Yes, completely right, for some things, it's important to point out that specs are better, for others, it's important to point out that specs are meaningless.

So why have they not converted to being droid users?

Exactly. The safe option is to buy the one where you won't automatically be accused of being a fanboy, you can say - without having to back it up - that your choice of brand and operating system is superior, and is more professional/grown up.

Go onto a non-car forum and ask whether you should buy a BMW or an Alfa, and most of the replies will be that BMW is better, that Alfa are unreliable, rust buckets, behind the times, etc. and if you buy one then you're an enthusiast, but not a serious driver.

Buy a Samsung, not an Apple product. Apple don't do anything good.

i love my SIII mini - it does everything i ask of it, quickly.

it's also a more practical size than the bigger version.
its got a great screen and camera, great youtube/facebook etc support, plays games well....etc, etc

i really cant fault it...

unfortunately, i cant compare it to an iPhone, as i've never owned one.!

the cheaper contract helped too

Bit late but I had a play with a Samsung something at work today.
I reckon
iPhone + ease of use, simplicity, share ability across devices of content and purchases. Stays current for at least 12 months. Lots of accessories and common port.
- cost, lock to one provider.

Android + more customisable, cheaper
- updated very frequently, only current for a few months, unnecessary features most never use, few accessories in mainstream..

I bought a Galaxy S3 new outright from Amazon. It hardly ever gets a signal. Did a google search and its common apparently. Sending it back with fingers crossed, I'm 328 down with no phone to use and paying a sim only contract on a lousy network.
I couldn't have got it more wrong if I had tried.

My wife has had her S2 for 18 months, as you say brilliant. In fact the S3 is hardly better, just more gimmicks. I don't know whether to take a replacement or go for a refund, lost faith if I'm honest

I love samsung screens, little trick with your mates iphone;

Both google search "flowers" and put the phones together - the samsung screens look super colourfull and vivid where the iphone screens look dull and washed out.

If you've had an android and paid apps.. Go for s3 mini. If you have had an iPhone or other iproduct go with the iPhone..

You can't crossbreed technology so unless you are really unhappy with what you've got don't change, both will do what you need.

PS android is better.

Top tip I learned was any phone/tablet/pc etc etc with an odd number is just an
update of the previous model...
Even numbered models are usually the latest 'new' stuff (apparently)
Had my Samsung Galaxy II best part of 2 years and it does everything I want it to do tbh
It has a hissy fit now and then but I just switch it off then back on again and all's well

S4 is due out soon I do believe

Untrue, and simple to prove... The 1st Galaxy was an odd number, and that was a new model!

The easiest way to check is to look at the specs.

It's out already, and it's far better than anything Apple has ever/will ever produce, so you must buy it without question.

Edit: looking back over this thread, it's fairly clear who the fanboys are these days.
