Recording streaming video from a website onto my Windows7 computer

Hi folks,

I'm wanting to record some streaming video off the internet onto my Windows7 computer. It's on at about 2am so I'll also be wanting to set it up to record in advance, ideally.

Yes, it's the Lance Armstrong on Oprah Winfrey thing!

Can anyone help please?

No idea about recording the streaming video but an FYI for anyone who isn't aware, it's being aired tonight on Discovery/HD at 2:00am.

On a similar topic, can anyone recommend a site or a program for saving Vimeo or YouTube vids.
I prefer to download them in HD & watch them on my HD TV via a media player as my monitor isn't HD ( or as big ) & the PC doesn't have a HD output.

I used savevideo.me previously which did the job but that's no longer available.

I have VLC on my PC!

I probably won't understand it but I'll have a look.

It works, however no matter what format I select the captured file saves as a .ps file
No big deal though as it can be seen on by my media player once I rename it as a .mp4

I still preferred savevideo.me though as it seemed faster, didn't require to play the clip in real time & it gave a quick & easy choice of different formats to save the file as.
