Help DVD & 5.1 sound

I want a new home cinema system. My DVD player has all but died and as the whole lot only cost me £80 many years ago, the speakers weren't brilliant either

Had a quick browse for a new system but i know as much about this as i do about open heart surgery so: Can i get a package that comes with a DVD player and all 6 speakers (5 satellites and a sub) that i can also wire a PS3 into for 5.1 sound? If that makes any sense at all

Or failing that, just suggestions for decent systems will do. Not bothered about it being a Bluray player, as i mentioned i have a PS3. Feel free to post links

TIA, Gaz

Been down this road ...Denon 7.1 system with MS speaker system. After 4 weeks my neighbour invited me in to his house without making any db adjustment to witness his table ornaments break dancing ....I sold the lot on eBay 4 weeks later ......now have a Denon 2.1 which is slightly better than the sound that emits from the TV....... the moral of the story here is don't buy a Barrett home or live on a farm

I have a Denon DVD Player and a Power Amp that you can have.

It's all part of this system, but the AV Receiver doesn't work as the sound processing chip fried.

Everything else works fine, you may be able to cobble it together with another cheap receiver.

It also has a cassette deck

The DENON AV-F100 Mini Separates A/V System

There's a working receiver on gumtree for 40 quid

It originally cost a grand.

Being in a flat I wanted something that didn't take much space to replace my aging separates and bought the predecessor to this one;

Pioneer BCS222 Black | 5.1 Blu-ray Package System inc. Speakers | Richer Sounds

I honestly cannot believe how good the sound quality is for the size speakers. The TV doesn't have an HD tuner so we have a Freeview HD box and since getting this always watch TV via the freeview box plugged into the pioneer via HDMI. It seems to upscale really well too and SD channels look better than from the TV tuner.

Save your money and dont buy a DVD player. You dont need it. Just download movies, buy a HDMI cable and connect your laptop to your TV

Thats what i do

If you already have a PS3, you don't need a new DVD Player.
The PS3 should play them and Blurays too.

Something like this maybe:
Pioneer HTP071 Black | 5.1 Package System inc Speakers excluding DVD Player | Richer Sounds
