cleaned keyboard - do you?

inspiron 1525 (I know! )

took it to bits, cleaned it up - how did so many dog hairs get in there?

Less typos in future I hope now.

Do you routinely clean your lappy?

Yes. Although I don't tend to take it apart.

This stuff is basically silly putty, but it works fantastically.

Cyber Clean Home & Office 75g Foil Zip Bag High Tech Cleaner: Amazon.co.uk: Toys & Games

You just push it against the keyboard and hold it there. It 'flows' behind the keys, and then you pull it back slowly, and it pulls all the cack out with it.

I've been know to blast it out with the compressor. However, I found the 1525 very flimsy and when it broke for the umpteenth I ditched it in favour of a much sturdier earlier 1510 (which is in bits somewhere and my kids keep mithering me to put it back together).

Ok,
I have two keyboards, One is a Microsoft digital media USB and the other is a Razer Lycosa USB gaming keyboard
You are not probably going to think I'm crazy but I clean both every couple of month in....... The dishwasher!

I make sure the cable is outside the door and I cable tie the keyboard upside down to the ceiling of the dishwasher... Then just turn it on to a gentle steam wash... I let it dry upside down on a clean, dry towel for four days (while I use the spare keyboard)... It is left in a warm, dry room in the meantime.
Job done, been doing it for years and they always comes out brand new.... Yes they both work perfectly too... I learned this tip from a Pro Gamer many years ago.

Told ya it sounds crazy

Compressed air, full whack. Failing that, let the dog lick it clean.
