HTC One X Or iPhone 5?

Iíve just been offered an early upgrade on my current HTC Sensation.

Should I go for the HTC One X now or bide my time and wait for the new iPhone 5?

(Iíve never had a fruit based phone before although I do have a fruit based MP3 player).

Get a 4S, decent phone that you're already familiar with if your ipod is a touch version and you can flog your ipod to make some moolah.

I have an HTC One X and it is an absolutely fantastic phone. But then I am an Android/HTC fanboi.

The pixel density on the HTC's IPS screen is a very close rival to the iPhone (312ppi vs the iPhone's 326ppi), but on a larger, more useable 4.7" 16:9 screen.
It is thinner than the iPhone, lighter than the iPhone, has more RAM, a much faster processor (1.5 GHz 4+1 core vs the iPhone's 800 MHz dual core), and storage is comparable to the iPhone at 32GB.

And yes (I always feel I have to say this), I have owned an iPhone. But I much prefer the Android system, and when coupled with HTC's Sense, I find it a far superior experience to that of the iPhone.

But, I understand that it is personal preference, so go and have a play with both yourself, and make your own mind up.

And I'd just like to add that the comparisons I made above are with the iPhone 4S, as the full specs still aren't fully out there yet for the 5. (processor clock speeds etc.)

Dont know what current Android stuff is like but when i upgraded back in Feb, i had a play with a Sony Ericsson something, a HTC something and a 4S. The iPhone was streets ahead in my opinion

There was a girl in a cafe today with a samsung galaxy somehting or other, the one with the massive screen, she took a call on it and it was bigger than her hand. Looked absolutely stupid stuck to the side of her head.

It was also white which probably made it worse.

I've had the iPhone 5 64Gb for a tad over a week now. Upgraded from a 4.

Comparison - blazingly fast; screen still fits in the hand and allows one handed use; doesn't look daft when you take calls; is noticeably lighter; as ever a great piece of overall design; maps app is pretty cr*p at the moment, but it's 3D function looking at the hills of the Lake District is absolutely ace; battery life is no worse.....

Would I recommend it? Yes, but then I have bought into the Apple "system" so it made sense for me, and the better freedom of the Android world hold no attractions for me.

Clock speed isn't the only measure of a processor's performance.

Never said that it was, but I'm confident that the One X outperforms the iPhone, especially now having first hand experience of both.

But anyway, there is now the One X+ to consider, which has an even faster CPU and GPU along with 64GB storage.

My wife has got the 4s and ipad etc,she loves it.
I have the Htc one x,I like more than Iphone and the camera is alot better than the iphone.
Its horses for courses, the reason I went for the Htc was down to seeing so many people with cracked screens on the iphone.Especially builders!

Had mine since Saturday, what makes a difference over 4 is the matt finish on the back, doesn't feel sloppy like the glass did, it's so much faster as you said just a pity I've got to change/update my docks at home & office

I was just referring to the fact you were quoting clock speed as statement that one processor is much faster than the other - which isn't always correct. In fact in the example you giving, I'd say it gives very little indication about two cpu's with different architecture.

It's simple.

If you use your phone one handed then get the iPhone. If you're happy with using two hands then get the HTC.

Personally the HTC is far too big and my hands are large. It is uncomfortable to use one handed and that's a problem. It still lags and the battery is genuinely terrible.

Don't believe the hype. Id get a windows phone over android but apple make the best phones around.
