iPad/iPhone Backup

Hi,

I'm getting a new iPhone and iPad soon and need to transfer all data across to the new devices.

Anybody done this and if so what tips do you have?

Having managed a few iPads at work i've found iTunes backup to be very poor and i'm looking at alternatives like iExplorer?

iExplorer - iPhone, iPad Music & File Transfer App - Mac & PC

Anyone used this or other apps for the backups?

Cheers

Sean

Not used that. I use the iCloud backup facility and that has worked very well so far.

I think the biggest problem I had was that my contacts are all in Exchange and these aren't exportable, had to export them from outlook as csv then import them on my dying home pc in the hope it would stay switched on long enough to sync them to my iphone so they could be backed up the cloud.

Messy

Don't the contacts get stored on the Cloud like the do on mine?

I've upgraded several times using iTunes without issue

Get the contacts in outlook on the pc with iTunes on it. Set your phone to sync contacts with outlook within iTunes. Hey and indeed presto.
