HTC grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

Went for a lovely meal last night to celebrate my mum retiring from her job 26 years deputy head at the same school.Walked home on the phone to my better half everything fine . Put the phone down ,go to call her back screen absolutely blank .Took the battery out switched on and off nothing, it it still working in that I can call it and it rings I can even answer it however I have no idea who is calling as the screen is blank .this is the 2nd time it has happened to a HTC smart phone .There is no damage it is almost as new, I can only think I was a bit warm last night and some sweat got into it , surely they should be tougher than that .

Any idea on what to do? I can phone orange and no doubt they will send someone with a replacement, I am not sure if I should go back to my trusted Nokias

Hi AV, I hope you don't mind, but, I'm going to get this thread moved to the Technical Lounge as I think you'll get a better response in there,

In the mean time I would suggest you check out any HTC user forums, since this has happened to you mopre than once it would suggest it might be a common issue that other people might have overcome.
In my humble oppinion though, if you want a non iPhone smart phone Samsung are the ones to get. I've got a Galaxy S2 and think it's bril

It sounds like a one off to me, I'm not a htc man but I know loads of folks who have them and there bloody hard to break.

Perhaps there's just a faulty connection between the screen and the motherboard. If you do go for another phone avoid the Nokia lumia 800, I recently got it and despite how much I love it there are just some niggles you can't get over.

Hope it gets sorted quick.

I would recommend you look at a place called XDA-Developers forum. They are happy to fiddle with phones so if there is a common problem, most likely the fix will be there. May be just a loose ribbon to the screen.
HTC make very good phones but the software seems to be the let down for me. Im happy with my Google(Samsung) Nexus, free from all the brand software gremlins.

I'm thinking you have been unlucky and have a duff phone. I've had several HTC and Samsung (even an iPhone...) and there really hasn't been any difference on the quality of any of them. HTC's interpretation of Android is better in my view than Samsung's. What model is it? XDA a suggested is an excellent place to get help.

I'm on my 2nd HTC. Previous one was great and this one has been apart from me dropping it numerous times Still it's working and I would stick with them if they were to continue to produce a hardware keyboard with Windows OS but it doesn't look like they will. Not a fan of Samsung (but that might also be because they sponsor Chelsea lol as well as a few others having issues). Didn't like my last LG - was a good phone but too many niggles. Used to also find Motorola solid and dependable.

But large... Says the man with a Galaxy Tab 7.7 3g - I can use it as a phone but I would never dare to pull it out in public so to speak. Unless it had Dom Jolly's ringtone.

I suspect if this is the way phones are going (I.e. Tablets) we'll become a nation of people with ear growths (Bluetooth) or someone will market an implant of some sort that will sync with phones directly to your ear ;-)

like a 50'' TV it gets 'smaller' everytime you use it. I don't have any problems pulling mine out

I have had mine for 2months now, first one x replaced as battery failed to last all day.
And being as it has a built in battery they sent me a new one, this one is fine.
Great camera and video, better than the Wife's 4s.Well pleased with it,had a Desire s before and no problems with that one either.
