Not Happy deadly seriuos question for HM.

HM, I have my yellow/black Breathing Air bottle which will shortly need a re-charge for use with my PCN but I believe it will now need some sort of testing before the sub-aqua shop can do this? I just wondered exactly what the details are now regarding this mate?

Zed, pressure vessels are more my bag.

What's it made of, what's the working pressure, and how old is it?

Hello again.

Sorry I took so long, but I wanted to double check at work (where all the standards and stuff are kept):

Breathing air bottles are a 5 year test, so if the last stamp is '06 it will need doing again.
Whoever fills it for you should be able to recommend a servicing agent.
It's not an expensive process (10's of quid IIRC); and they should do a visual inspection, check the threads for wear or damage, replace O-rings if they need it, and do a hydrostatic proof test to 1.5x Working Pressure.

Test date should be stamped, or some places use a sticker and pot it in resin so it can't be tampered with.

If you want to call me a cult leader that's fine.
But you will be laughing on the other side of your face when the spaceship arrives.
