Thumbs Up A nice surprise

Jan decided I need a new laptop, as the old Toshiba Satellite is getting a bit slow and clunky

Well it is almost 7 years old

It's not been a bad laptop as things go, added some extra memory and kept it clean and updated and it's been a good machine but it's time for a change, I've had this laptop longer than any Alfa I've had

So she's just bought me

Another Toshiba Satellite, more memory a bigger hard drive and a faster processor

Only a week to wait and I'm all excited

I wouldn't bother buying fruity stuff, good virus protection, regular updates has kept me on line and happy for years

It does seem very over priced ! Great design and well made but expensive.

It is that mate, why pay £1500 for a fruity device when £400 with good virus protection and good maintenace will do the same thing

I don't know which Mod moved this to the tech lounge, but thanks for taking the shine off a present from Jan that I wasn't even interested in techincal specs of laptops.

All you tech IT experts feel free to let rip and tell me what spec she should have bought

Don't worry, it's not a fruit

I'd put it to an oversight... It's not a Tech Question at all so WOT would be a logical place I would have thought... Guess they can move it back though?

I fingered said laptop in Tesco tonight, slightly different spec but the same model

It's very slim and sleek makes the thing I'm typing on now feel like an old IBM Thinkpad
