If you're looking for a cheap, effitient satnav...

Try this.. Halfords | Navman EZY Sat Nav - UK & ROI

It's very easy to use, well made, and it's really compact, even when in it's cradle. The small screen doesn't bother me as one I used to use had the same size screen and it was just fine.

Happy with my purchase

Cheaper still, buy NAVIGON app if you have an iPhone. Thoroughly excellent

I've always been wary of satnav via my iphone, I can't say why, but I guess I trust my satnav more than my iphone.

I just use the free sat nav on my windows phone. Doesn't have some annoying voice giving me directions but then I rarely need a sat nav so perhaps am not the best user. My cousin uses it on his phone and doesn't often bother with the sat nav.

Windows one is much improved since the Mango update.

I'm happy that my phone uses the same satellites that a sat nav does. The only potential issue I can see is that it uses the internet to download the Bing maps as it goes, but I zoom in to the area in advance if its a potential blackspot (e.g. If walking and unsure) and it caches some ready so not a problem. And there are free/purchasable maps you can download if you're really bothered (plus I get better battery life than the Tom Tom I was originally given but never used more than once.

This was before Tom Tom Stop days: an aunt from Belgium was on her way to visit us in the Netherlands.
Somewhere in the North of Belgium, she came across a touring bus loaded with tourists and the name of our village on the back.

So she followed it.
To the wrong side of Holland where they stopped for the night.

She made it to our house though.
On the very next day.

I remember paying nearly £400 for my first Navman Satnav.
