Shark 'stick' vacuum

Anyone have one of these?

I've been tempted by a stick vacuum for a while, for the convenience and the smaller storage space needed. But are they genuinely as powerful as a corded vacuum, as they claim?

I was originally tempted by the Dyson V10 - but put off it and others by the astronomical price. But the top spec Shark is heavily reduced in the sales, so my (mouse) trigger finger is itching.

The train :(

I have a reasonably lightweight but very powerful (mains powered) Miele and am very impressed by it. It's pretty small and it is the hose that takes up most of the space.

We have a Dyson cordless I picked up cheap a few years ago. It is utterly brilliant at dealing with point problems, such as a load of dog biscuits on the floor. It is rubbish at the general hoovering of dog hair from all over the house,.

On holiday the cottage had a cordless g-tech thingy, and the missus rated it. it wasn't a stick but it was upright and compact.

Don't have a Shark but we do have a Tefal Airforce stick vacuum. It's fine as a second cleaner - we use ours pretty much every day & it's great for zooming round the house quickly. Picks up a surprising amount for its small size too. BUT it can't do the stairs very well, the battery is dead in 15 minutes & it needs to be dismantled & cleaned after every use or the suction drops off. So the corded Dyson still comes out of the garage once a month to give the house a proper hoovering.

We have a Dyson V6 cordless. When working it's very good for a quick whizz around the kitchen etc. Certainly powerful enough for hard floors and short carpets (no dog hair). But we are on battery number 4 in less than 1 year (all supplied without fuss by Dyson), but makes you wonder......

Not sure I'd be in the queue for a Dyson electric car.

Henry comes out for the weekly full on vaccuum.
