Iphone to HDMI ? and Netflix

Hi all.
We got the daughter a HD projector for crimbo, so she could watch Netflix etc.
But when trying to plug her Iphone in via the USB on it, it doesnt recognise it.
So we need to do it through the HDMI port.
Leads seems available but it appears with searches you cant watch Netflix?
Has anyone been able to connect and what leads have they used.
Cheers.

It seems to be a long way around to watch Netflix.

Couldn’t you have just bought a cheap smart tv or set top box with Netflix installed as an app?

There you go:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-Light.../dp/B009WHV3BM

Pricey. But that's Apple. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Or an Airplay dongle?

We have a TV with all that stuff, this is for her to use in her room so she can project a movie onto the wall.

Oooh didnt think of the dongle thingy, will run that one by her.
Agreed Apple stuff is crazy priced.
There are other cables, i wonder if people have had success with them?
EDIT. it appears this does not do Netflix.

If I Googled/read correctly Airplay is better because it'll resize
to fit the projector screen. While the cable only mirrors the
exact image in the phone screen.

This has got me head scratching big time.
It seems yes just get some cables or dongle and plug it in.
BUT.
None of them play Netflix etc due to "encryption".
Good god there must be an easy way to do this.

All that tech and they still cannot upload a video to the Tube so that it plays the right way round.

Sorted.
Got a Chromecast doodar.
Straight in via the projector HDMI socket, powered by the USB alongside (nice and neat)
Google home app on a smart phone to set up wifi etc and streams anything faultlessly cast to it.
Its £30 i could of done without spending but still cheaper than the daft Iphone lead.

Just checked on my phone. (Android)

Works two ways:

1) Mirror phone screen wirelessly.
2) Cast from Netflix app and Chromecast then
streams directly. Using phone to only control.
