Nothing Italian

Fridge with an internet camera built inside it so you can finally verify if the light goes off when you close the door.

Got one of these as a spotter cam for negotiating tricky off road sections
without a co-driver:

Smart watch of some kind?

Amazon Echo?

Atari 800XL (of which I happen to have one for sale . Mind you, it's not really a gadget. It's practically steam powered.

Any drone capable of doing anything remotely interesting has to the registered with "the man" over here, and f*** the man. Besides we're surrounded by water here so there's a pretty good chance that expensive toy is going for a bath.

I'm trying to get rid of classic kit, not buy more!

Soft close toilet seat?

Garage door opener?

Wifi enabled bathroom scales?

Gadget = Raspberry Pi Zero W
Add-ons aplenty
Make it do something interesting - like building an autonomous robotic skeleton ahead of Halloween - along with red LED eyes, and sensors to allow it to jump up and scare the ruffians coming down the driveway in the dark

Me, evil, nah !

I have a Pi 2. Or is it 3?

Too much like a busman's holiday.

I was super excited to use the camping toaster, and eagerly set it up along with only 2 slices of bread. It cannot hold 4 normal slices. It would fit 4 Jacobs crackers comfortably, but not bread. Regardless, toast was soon to be the order of the day. I was little prepared for the scientific marvels and journey of discovery that would follow.

I was rewarded with probably the most exciting 20 minutes in the history of engineering and science. While the Yellowstone 4 slice camping toaster became cherry red in the heat from our stove the bread stubbornly refused to become toast. Instead, I believe that we found a way to create cost effective heat shielding for a new fleet of reusable spacecraft. We have sent samples to NASA for consideration.

What can only be described as a super-dehydrated brittle slab was the end result of 20 minutes "toasting". The bread was the same colour as before, but must have undergone some sort of chemical change because the end result was simply astounding. We almost had a very nasty accident when a friend took the tile inside a tent, forgot it was there and consequently over the span of an hour or so the tile proceeded to leech all moisture from his body and surrounding environment.

Such was the dehydrated stated of the bread tile that we are now creating a business proposal for BP to create a raft of these tiles for their next oil spill as we're confident that a 1km square raft of these toast tiles will simply absorb all of the ocean underneath a spill, allowing BP to simply shovel up any oil directly from the sea bed.

If your garden needs a patio, then don't buy expensive concrete slabs. Simply create cost-effective concrete-like tiles from ordinary bread with the assistance of the Yellowstone 4 slice camping toaster. Use a combination of brown and white bread to create a pleasant chessboard effect.

Security services - replace steel plating from body armour with a lightweight, bullet-proof alternative. Probably effective defense against calibers up to and include .50 cal armour piercing rounds.

The Yellowstone 4 slice camping toaster is more than a camping accessory, it's a marvel of science. Highly recommended for campers, builders and engineers.

I've used one of those things on a camping stove. It is not an inaccurate description of the result.

I love the idea of one of these - https://canary.is but probably wouldn't actually get one.

Also fancy a Polaroid cube+ for some cheap action camera messing about. Gopro seems expensive for something I may get bored of.
