It might be a pathetic, first-world panic attack - but I'm increasingly narky about Google.
Gmail is bombarding me with ads.
The search engine is skewed by commercial interest.
The mapping (brilliant as it is) keeps a detailed log of everywhere I've been.
I'm concerned at the frequency of their requests for me to sign up to their long-winded policies on privacy and security. I yearn for simple effectiveness. I tend to mingebag it. I like the concept of privacy.

I'm using DuckDuckGo, for a while, as my default browser (on Firefox).
I've just set up a protonmail email account.
I'm just getting used to both interfaces, learning the limitations. They are both pretty simple in their interpretation of what it takes to be a free web utility.
I'll consider gradual migration of accounts and stuff as I go along.
Is this a fools errand, or are others in the same frame of mind?
