Screen mirroring

I have just invested in a nice new Sony Bravia 4k tv, and a new Samsung S7...

I also have got the BT sport app free for 6 months, and last night tried to "mirror" the phone onto the TV screen. I had limited success.. The thing worked at first with no sound, then couldn't get it to pair. I was using a "miracast" app.

What is the best way to do this, or the best app to use? I don't mind getting a cable if needed but the TV will take the wifi..?

I also need to try and log on to BT sport app directly on the TV but apparently you require an EE sim card device to watch it..!?

On my works provided S6 there is a "smart connect" option on the notifications pull-down
that you use to connect to, among other things, displays.

It's a bit hit 'n' miss on video quality depending on which app you use.

By a chromecast device for about 30. Plug that into TV. Use BT app on phone and cast to TV. Job done.

Yes. Had a chromecast for years. Handy little thing. Take it with me when visiting dad for a few days as well.

Sky sports refuse to support it.

BBC iplayer and YouTube work well as does Netflix.
