Alfa 105 engine conversion

Hi, I have a alfa 105 series gt junior that has been modified into a fast road spec. I love using this car for road trips and driving days - but having come back from a European trip I would like some more power over the alps. The car currently had an Alfetta 1.8 nord engine with some
Modifications to it, but really ran out of puff going over the alps. I would like to do a TS conversion and incorporate some Alfaholics engine tuning. They say to use the TS engine from the 75, but this is very expensive now, has anybody tried using the TS engine from a 147 or 916 etc? These are much cheaper and easier to get hold of?

They can be fitted, I've seen one on you tube, but In my opinion this would not be in keeping with the car. It's a Fiat engine not a proper Alfa engine. It would also be a lot of work, where the 75 Twin Spark is straight forward. What you save on the buying the 16v Twin Spark engine I would expect would cost you more getting it to fit

You can fit whatever you want in there but it certainly won’t be the cheaper option!

Personally I’d stick with the nord engine and spend the money on improving the performance as well as looking at lightening the car.

A Dutch guy has fitted a 156 2.0 to his 105 coupe. His name is Joop Baltussen. I sent him a FB message once to ask how but have not gotten a response.

We took a 75, an 1800 alfetta across the alps.
All went down on power due to the altitude. The 75 suffered the most on the altitude as the injection systems suffers more than the carbs.

At height the alfetta was powering past the 75. At lower altitude it was the 75 powering past the Fetta.
