Actually it’s not a skin issue but browser. With Firefox, I can’t access the PM section regardless of the skin I use :dunno:

Firefox 39.0 with Adblocker installed on Legacy skin within windows 8.1. I haven't been able to see my PM box since the site upgrade. That's been 3 months now, I would have been sacked by now if it took me that long to fix such an upgrade niggle at my work. I have to log into a different browser just to see my PM's.

Add this value to your ad block custom filters. We can't control how adblock works if you continue to use it.

alfaowner.com#@#.theAd

Users who aren't using the plugin don't have this issue. There's another thread in this bugs section that was asking about this. Can you let them know as well?

Sounds like you don't approve of Adblocker. :rubchin:

Several of my frequently visited websites had introduced top banner ads, then left and right banner ads, then keyword ads that activated when you hovered over them. I understand this site now has ads too, therefore I will not be disabling adblocker.

I'll give that a try admin_support, thanks.

It doesn't work on my works machine when I run without AdBlocker. I can use the workaround of going into the profile and on the edit menu there's an option for viewing Inbox (it basically works if going direct into a folder so changing the PM link to an inbox link would likely fix the issue... Assumed that may have been done as there were reports a while back and that workaround was suggested.

Profile, Edit Options, then on the right, click PM and then Inbox.

Just discovered this problem - using Firefox and Adblocker......I could access a new PM when I got a pop-up telling me there was one, but otherwise can't get into it.......I'll go back into the 20th century and try via IE, but I'm not going to do that regularly....

EDIT: OK - got in via IE, but had to endure delays whilst the ads loaded......lets just say I won't do that regularly!

See my post above and you don't need to use IE.

If the adblock is the cause, maybe this would help.
In your ad block, Go to filter preferences>custom filters>addfilter>alfaowner.com#@#.theAd

Give that a try and turn your adblock back on afterwards.

The only other suggestion I can think of is to turn off adblock for this forum only as I'm not quite sure which script the adblock is blocking.

This was an issue before when the 'private.php' links were being re-written to 'private-messages.html'

That was disabled a couple weeks ago.

For those who are still experiencing issues, where are you accessing the PMs from?

Anywhere you try to click "PM" unless you use the route mentioned by DP (that I repeated)...

So if I just click "PM Manager" at the top of this page (Legacy/Legacy Alt) then I just get a blank page because the link is https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/private-messages.html. Same if you go to Profile, PM Manager. I've just found that if you go to private.php it forwards to the above link but if you changed the link to https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/private.php then it would take you to the inbox and work ok... Can the link be changed?

I was sure I had a "?" after private.php that seems to have vanished now. Still not working.

So "https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/private.php?"

ok, that's stopped working now...

https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/private.php? just worked for me... Now I'm getting confused...

If I paste the above link in directly it works and takes me to my inbox, but if I click on it as a link the AO coding does something screwy with it and it redirects to private-messages

If I type https://alfaowner.com/forum/private.php it redirects me to Private-messages.html. If I add the "?" to the end I get my PM box.

This is just a simple redirection issue that should be easy to sort out on the web server.
