Viewing attached images

Is it just me?

Previously, when viewing an image attached to a post, it would open in a pop-up with a black border (java I suppose). If the poster had uploaded multiple images I could scroll through them within the pop-up. Closing the pop-up would return to the thread.

Now though the image simply opens in a web page, closing that web page closes the session to AO, one has to use the browser 'back' button to return to the thread... this is in IE8

In Firefox I still get the black border around the image, but no option to scroll on to further images and also have to use the browser 'back' button to return to the thread.

All the best

I noticed the same on FF. I don't often use any other browser. It does not do that on other vBulletin forums. Can't say what revision/version they are though off the top of my head.

It's not just you, I noticed it a few days ago. I'm using IE8 on PC & Safari on an iProduct.

Thanks for the report guys. Let me look into it and see if I can replicate the issue.

Any update on this? Every time an attachment is opened it now opens as a new page rather than a 'lightbox' window in the existing page as it did before the server upgrade a couple of months ago.

Sorry for the delay mate as I'm trying to sort it out. Please give it a try now and see if it changed for you.

I noticed a change last night using IE8 & Chrome on a PC, now when I scroll down over a post with an attachment an empty lightbox windows appears & I can now no longer click on the attachment to open it so it's actually now worse as I can't get the lightbox to go away, see below :

Attachments lightbox broken.jpg

The same occurs using Safari on an iProduct.

Yep, me too on Safari on a Mac. Something has changed but it's not the right change.

OK, just spotted in the admin options that the lightbox setting had changed from click to hover so I've changed it back to click and we're back to how it was reported as being broken after the server move.

Using FF.

Attachments still opening in a new page, can't scroll through them like it used to be, have to use the " Back Button " and go through this for every attachment, very annoying.

I also suspect that a lot of people may give up on this with multiple images, not good.

Any progress on a fix Steve ?

That's interesting. In your Post quoting me a lot of Upper Case letters from my original Post, " Steve " for instance, have gone into Lower Case in the quote section of your Post. Another glitch ?

Although I may well be only semi literate I hate to look worse than I actually am !

Hell yes. I certainly did not change anything. I have a spell checker but it is not passive in that I am required to correct spellings.
But it has left them this time...

But your last " quote " from me has come out fine, very odd.

Maybe the site is converting to a text speak mode...........

That's the "SHOUT filter" kicking in I think, if you reply to a post with only symbols, numbers &/or CAPITALS it converts some/all of the uppercase letters to lowercase.

The same occurs using Safari on an iProduct.

This seems to be happening again
