Angry site never stops loading and loading and loa........

Morning.
I have tried using 3 different browsers (chrome, firefox and opera) but the loading symbol never stops spinning and it drives me nuts. The page is slow to respond, so slow I end up coming out of the site before I have finished reading.
AO is the only site that this happens on, it doesn't make a difference if I am signed in or not.
I have tried disabling add ons, this didn't help.
I have stopped Java, no luck.

I am using an HP g6 lappy
windows 8.1

On my windows 7 desk top or sony tv there isn't a problem, so I guess it's just a setting somewhere.
Can anyone please help before I give up altogether?

many thanks, Mick.

if things don't change they will stay as they are.

Does your 8.1 device have any firewalls in place that could be blocking the site in some way

Hi Kyle.

Thanks for your reply.
No, I have tried with the firewall de-activated, it doesn't make any difference unfortunately.

Oh yes, one network for all devices in the house.

Can you check the version Chrome you are running? I was getting a similar sounding glitch on another site, and when I applied a update (bringing me to 59.0.3071.115) it fixed it up for me

Sorry Kevin, I've been away for a few days.
I use chrome version 61.0.3152.2. it tells me it's up to date.
My desktop is using the same version. I've no idea what the tv is using. It's a sony using android and it's browser is not straight forward to use so I normally just use my lappy.
Infact I am disappointed with the telly altogether, I wont buy another sony tv.

many thanks, Mick

Chrome 61 eh? Far as I can tell, that's a beta version of the next patch upgrade. Might explain why it's giving you issues, but that's just a guess.

If possible, can you test switching over to a different browser such as Firefox, or Edge? Just to see if the glitch continues

Do you find the site is waiting for anything in the bottom left corner?

i've tried it with Firefox and Opera, I get the same results.

Admin Support asked alfabeat if he gets a "waiting for" script at the bottom left of his screen,
I do get this for 20 seconds or so, then the message goes but I am still left waiting with the loading symbol at the top.
So frustrating.

Hey there,

if you see the site constantly loading, do you notice any video ads that aren't clickable?

I believe those ads may be the cause of it. I'll try to replicate it on my end but if you can confirm it as well, it would help a lot.

Iím getting the same, except that the page does eventually stop loading, after a minute or two. It stops when the Google search box loads. The small white on blue g loads quickly but the box is delayed. Is there anything you or I can do about this? Itís not like Google to be slow.

Hi,
my chrome seems fine with this, however I cannot get the forum to open on AutoGuide (version1.2.1, there is no update on offer when I checked) on IOS (will try on my android device this evening), as above, it seems to just not load, I then get the dialogue box with:
"the forum seems to have trouble laoding. Return ot the form list or wait?
Trouble seems to have beeen happening for over a week

What browser are you using?

What David said. Support for the old app was dropped by the 3rd party we had design it for us. We've shifted our focus to the Enhanced Mobile View instead.

Chromium in Linux Mint.
The response of the forum is variable. Often it takes two tries to get a page to start loading, although the indicator turns. It sometimes loads normally, but is often slow as described above and sometimes never stops the indicator despite the page being complete. Changing from a MiFi device to the hotspot on my phone varies the delays but does not fix it.

Sorry no, that newer version is still valid. It draws directly from the mobile version of the site so I confused myself.

This one: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/auto...000692627?mt=8

The android version isn't present though. Couldn't find it from a search. Will get that looked into
