ad blocker preventing forum use

For many months now I have been using an ad blocker browser extension to shield me from the undesirable ads on this forum.
In the last few days, certain features and aspects of usability (e.g. the 'like' button) have been disabled ............ until I disable the ad blocker extension.

Anyone else notice this?

"post quick reply" is also not working in the standard editor.

I'm using a server based ad-filtering proxy, can't be bothered to turn it off. If they make the site unusable, then I'll be off...

"Like" is a bag of pants anyway. If you like something, reply to it!

May be worth trying AdBlock Plus.

I think it is browser issues. I have the same server based ad-blocker - Safari on iPad is fine, Chrome on PC is a bit broken.

Hey rxe,

Let us know if @Dave Brand's suggestion alleviates the situation for you. As for the ads, if you come across any intrusive ads that really get in the way of your navigation on the site, let us know the URL of the source for that ad (not the URL on the page on our site where it appears). You can right click on it and select "copy image address," send that info here along with the type of device you're using (PC/desktop/mobile - iPad, etc.). We'll get those ads removed at once; the intrusive ones should not be on the site.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Cheers,
Natalie

I have the same problem . Only occured over the last week. It wasn't happening before .
I would dissable but that means I have to keep enabling and disabling so the browser can be used on all the other things I use.
I'm using uBlock on firefox P.C win 10.
A bit odd as not had a problem till last week. I thought it was an issue with the site till I noticed this thread.

You should be able to control it on a site by site basis if necessary. excluding sites

I had assumed it was a 'problem' with this site, deliberately engineered to discourage ad-blocker use in order to maximise revenue from advertising (just as some other sites refuse access with ad-blocker enabled). Pardon my cynicism if this is not the case.

You're cynicism is pardoned, you don't need adblock necessarily to cause the issue

If you're using Adblock Plus, add this to the options whitelist.
