Unable to add photo to gallery

Hi, I get the following error when trying to upload photos to the Gallery:

An error occurred while attempting to create a folder for your files. If the problem persists, please notify the webmaster

Not just today, has never worked. I am using Firefox on an iMac.

Please help.

Hey there,

Have you attempted to resize the images, and try posting them again?
Also what format are your images?
Does clearing your cache and cookies from your browser help clear things up at all?

Richard.

Hey there,

I have tested making a for sale thread, and adding an image as you have done, and I came across the same issue.
I have sent in a ticket for this classified issue to the tech team.

Ticket #:2221974

My original problem seems to be fixed or at least I seemed to get photos to upload using IE at work.
However, it gave a message that the photos had to be approved by a moderator.
Is this normal for every photo and how long does it typically take for review?

EDIT: even stranger ... it says I have three images under my avatar but when clicked it says I have no images??

2nd EDIT: no longer saying 3 images under avatar.

Images are put under moderation to ensure that no NSFW images or spam advertisements are listed there. Just a security feature to ensure everything is kept family friendly. Moderators and admins will pop in and approve them when they see the moderation queue or when a member mentions it.

To confirm, I see your profile says 6 images, but when I clicked the "6" it only showed 3 of yours. Did you post 6 images, or 3? I approved some images already but it seems none of them were yours.

Can you let me know?

Thanks,
- JB

I can upload to the classifieds fine now, thanks.

It takes months and months for other photos to be approved though.

JB, yes thanks images are there now. I uploaded three images and they are visible.
I also see the "6" as you mentioned but only three in Gallery.

And another question, I can't seem to embed images in a post, only provide a link.
When creating a post it says [IMG] is Off. Is this because I am a Newbie?

Cheers,
Scott

I have no this function any more.

You can't in Quick Reply at the moment, you need to use the attachment method in the normal/advanced reply option.
I've highlighted the issue to Admin.

Drag and Drop was removed due to it causing a script issue. The tech team is looking into the issue and getting it resolved.

The quick reply is set to be just a short reply, which is why the attachment manager is not included in the icons.

If you are looking to post images through there, you can use normal/advanced as David P mentioned, until we get the plugin issue resolved.

Thanks,
- JB

Friendly speaking I am not sure you mean exactly.
I am familiar to put image into share resource and copy thumbnailed link into post to be visible.
Probably AO does not recognize my Russian shares and leaves the link to be clicked only.
Please let me know what to do or where to read alternatively.

Click on the "Reply" button or the "Quote" button. Not the "Quick Reply" button.

Then in that window click on the "Paperclip icon" ( highlighted by the Green ^ UP arrow )

Then select the file from your computer in the "Upload File from your Computer" ( highlighted by the Green <-- LEFT arrow ) & click the "Upload" button when ready.

Or paste I the link in the "Upload File from a URL" ( highlighted by the Yellow <-- LEFT arrow ) & click the "Upload" button.

David posted a great tutorial. Thanks David!

BuonGiorno, Have you been able to get some images uploaded using the method they outlined?

Thanks,
- JB
