Recently I haven't been able to attach images when initially posting, I have to go back into advanced edit before I can access the 'Manage Attachments' box. Under 'Aditional options' below I now have a long list of what looks like previously attached images of mine.

Today I relisted a couple of expired ads & wanted to add a few more but after compiling a long ad which included photos the system wouldn't submit. The message stating it was unable to move an image. I tried using a different image, same thing. So I relisted an older version, changed the wording, submitted all ok, but when I tried changing a couple of photos it wouldn't submit again. I then tried re using the previous image & I got this:

Unable to move file [/usr/sites/alfaowner.com/tmp/phpqszZoi] [/usr/sites/alfaowner.com/www/htdocs/Forum/classifieds/data/74/GTVsManorFarm21.jpg]

I too get a 'Stop script' message nearly every time I start using the site, I click 'Stop Script' & continue using the site ok..........apart from the slow loading up, jumping page waiting for the ads to load & the images!!!!!

Only a couple of days ago I ran 'Piriform C Cleaner' on my 'new' computer.

Can you help sort this please?

Just uploaded a new ad without any photos, went into edit, tried adding 1 photo & got the same 'Unable to move file' message.

Clive
I have send this towards the tech team work on a fix.
I will post back here once I have an update for you.

Using the standard skin, havent changed anything since I joined. From a PC. Was working fine up until about 2 weeks ago i think. Not getting any error messages, using drag and drop onto the page - the green upload bar goes up but when it gets to the end the picture vanishes

The Drag & Drop feature was disabled a few weeks ago, not sure exactly when it returned but it seems to be working ok for me as long as I don't try to upload files bigger that the limits, Drag & Drop doesn't automatically resize files unlike the standard attachment feature in advanced reply (the paperclip icon)
Are the files you are trying to upload within the limits ?

Hey there

It appears to work as it should from all of David's testing (thank you!). Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies recently? It's a simple thing, but can sometimes work miracles.

Can you also let us know what browser you are using, and device/platform?

Sorry, I should've come back sooner to say it's been working fine for me for a while now.

I'm using skin: Classic 1.

this is good. drag and drop was brought back a while ago, the techs seem to have found a fix for the script issues. let us know if anything looks funny again.

Hey Bob,

If you are using Drag and Drop, it adds the image to "Attachments" and you have to choose it from the pull down.

Are you using Drag and Drop or are you using Insert Image / Attachments pop up menu to load images?

or are you using the Drag and Drop for Quick Reply?

Thanks,
JB

Using drag and drop in Quick Reply. Not getting any pull down options, I tried in advanced and looked at the manage attachments menu (didn't notice that before ) and it says "You are currently using 9.99 MB to store 53 uploaded attachments." Do I have a 10Mb Limit maybe? Do I have to delete pictures I've used on older posts? That doesn't seem right though, would make all the old posts look rubbish.

The files I am trying to add now are not in that menu list btw so they aren't coming up there either.

Yes Basic (free) members have a 10MB limit, more info here AO Club

Hosting pics elsewhere online using Photobucket for example is an option, then you can post the link.

photobucket is down for maintenance atm. Photobucket links are out of whack because of it. It was scheduled to end at 2 am MST. They updated at 2 am MST (4 am our time) saying the maintenance would proceed a little longer today.  No exact resolution time.

just an fyi.

Well that explains it I made a pretty extensive DIY guide for upgrading the cooling hoses and changing the thermostat on the V6 a while back and couldn't use any pictures with it due to this. I've gotten a lot of help from other guides on here and it seems a bit silly to make it harder for people to make guides in this way. Images used in DIY guides should be exempt from the limit if possible.

As of Friday morning Photobucket has finished it's maintenance, so all should be up to par now!
Let us know if the links are not working correctly.

Richard.
