All change in Bournemouth

I've had an e-mail from Meridien in Bournemouth to say that the Alfa dealership will now be handled by the Westover Group. Westover are already the local Fiat dealers so I guess it sort of makes sense.

Wow, the Westover group's gone through a few car brands over the years - they used to be a Ford dealer way back, then Peugeot / Citroen (IIRC) and they now handle a whole bag of different car makes including Hyundai. Keep a look out for excessively hairy mechanics who drag their knuckles along the ground, they're probably ex-Citroen

I don't remember Westovers being Ford?. Ford in bournemouth used to be Hendy lennox (Hendy's), and more later English's in Poole rd and then @ Tower pk.

coming from Bournemouth, I remember the original 1st Westover Group dealership on Castle Lane (where the retail Pk is with Pizza hut), a certain "Red 5" F1 driver used to be part of the group, he also had a Sports car garage in Blandford called "Westover Sports cars" specialising in Ferrari.

They certainly have come a long way since the 80's, loads of brands now and plenty of dealers throughout Dorset.

I am sure they had the Alfa brand before though !!

forgot to say my car being a HG reg was registered in Bournemouth, I suspect it might of been a demo car due to the bodykit and was supplied by Meridien.

I did email them asking of they had any info, but got nothing back..

I certainly remember Hendy and English's but I'm sure Westover did Ford too, in a place on Alder Rd somewhere around where Merv Hannam is now. Still, I may have been mistaken about the name - I was quite young at the time, but I do remember the garage had a lovely new signal yellow RS2000 outside

BTW I haven't lived in Bournemouth for 25 years now, but I still think of it as home. Maybe I'll move back there when I retire, just like everyone else

I moved from Bournemouth about 5 years ago in fact the last time I went into Tower park Ford they also had a yellow MK2 RS2000 in the showroom. It belonged to one of the mechanics there..
