Is the price right?

Hi guys,

Seem to be struggling to sell my 156, any opinions on whether I'm pricing it right etc.

Cheers.

As Stuart says, the ad and pics et al look ok. £2k is maybe a touch optimistic though, over a year ago we had a 2.4 Veloce wagon in, it was a facelift car in Alfa Red and full black leather with reems of history for half of that.
Have a look at webuyanycar to get an idea of trade price, add £500 to that for a private sale and you'll be not far off the money and hopefully get a quick sale.

Good luck

An 'educated' buyer might be put off because the timing belt is due a change, that always affects what they would be willing to pay.

Thanks guys. Yes I have it on gumtree and autotrader, few swaps offered and that's about it. We buy any car offered 500, garage I've bought my new car from offered 700. It's just such a great car I'm loath to give it away for that kind of money.

Am i right in thinking Ill have to get my post count up before I can put it on here?

Cheers.

On that basis, I'd say that even £1,000 would be optimistic!

I'm sure you can put it in the classifieds no matter how many posts you've made. Give it a try and find out.

Good luck mate, but the £700 sounds like a good offer

Most of the time yes, I nearly bought that one myself and still kick myself for not doing it! It failed the health check for rust on the chassis rails, common fault allegedly. 156's have hit rock bottom I reckon............

Thanks everyone for the input. It sold this morning for £2150. Both parties very happy with the deal.

I knew it was worth more than trade price, patience paid of I suppose.
