Cry Like A Baby The wheels have come off!

Metaphorically that is!

I haven't been on here for what seems like ages and have missed a few events and the big run etc. Just bought a new house (a real DIY job, hence my absence) and then in the same week BANG - got the news from work that I have to go part-time and will lose 1/3 salary as of August

Result? To save the house I have to sacrifice my bella

Obviously could be worse as at least I'm not redundant and I know people who've not been quite so 'lucky' but I'm gutted nevertheless as it's been the only new car I've ever had and will be losing her after just 20 months. I've just written to FGA to terminate contract on the 159 and have about 3 weeks left to enjoy her.

I'm now hoping to remain an Alfista as I just can't envisage driving something else. I'll try and see what I get my hands on in the summer and will try to make Hopetoun (probably in a cloud of smoke at this rate!)

Not great news UV. This recesion seems to be going on for ever and hitting everyone really hard. What you need to find is a nice 147 or 156 oil burner to keep the costs down and the space up

I downsized prematurely for similar reasons. Loving the Mito but maybe it's not big enough for your needs.

Sorry to hear this mate. Hopefully the shortened hours is only temporary. I had to go through something similar back in 2003 by going on a 3 day week for 2 months.
Fingers crossed for you that it all works out

Thanks folks

In the process of deciding what to go for as I definitely need 4/5 seats for the family but not necessarily an estate as big loads are not often needed. I know there's a case for diesel with its economy but I just can't bring myself to cross over Frank!

I may have found something already which is a little bit tasty

Will keep you in suspense though until I can see it in a few weeks
