Wow. I'm still trying to figure out how you got your skirts to fit so nicely. Are those genuine?

So i fitted some bilstein b6's all around last week. Wow wow wow. It is the best mod ever. The car now instills confidence going around corners. Also replaced the drop link, the steering feels awesome. Whomever owns a 916 gtv and feel the handling is gone a bit wonky, replace the shocks immediately.

Hi Avi - I assume you have usual flywheel (not DM) then the regular OE (Valeo) GTA clutch kit is plenty strong. I did some research for something that could tolerate some abuse. And there could not find off the shelf options locally and some UK stuff is pretty pricey (3 times the price of a GTA clutch kit at least) and then there are 'off the chain' Ali race options that are just ridiculously priced. I eventually took a brand new GTA clutch plate (heart in throat) to an oomie in Pretoria who inserted some (imported) cerametallic pucks into my clutch plate (I.e substituting some of the OE material for pucks) and this has worked so far. Very little judder because we retained the springs in the plate and no slipping (so far)! I am using this set up on a 2litre TS turbo (intended for track use) but with the V6 gearbox as it was clear very quickly that the Std (new) GTA clutch we started with would not hold. Worth considering - I'll send you oomie's number if you are interested.

Ok, many DM equipped busso's are converted to SM as it is cheaper and can handle abuse better (typically using a GTA clutch kit). I have no idea what ceramic pucks would do to an OE DM flywheel but it will get complicated....Gerhard (TN) will surely know the answer to this from his experience. Good luck with the final lap of this build - it's gonna be sweet!!!

Hi all,

The GTV is finally with TN, the gearbox has been removed to fit the Q2 & build the clutch.

Not long now for Busso boost.

Cheers
Avi

Hi all, quick update, this build is taking longer than anticipated but nevertheless still moving on.

There was a long wait for the clutch, but, that has now arrived, so basically the gearbox is done, Q2 in, single mass flywheel in, 1 x GTV clutch, 1 x 1.9 diesel clutch (off a 147/GT) & a diesel pressure plate fitted, gearbox back in the car & now the fun starts..........

Sorry, i dont have any pics to upload, Gerhardt is not sending any to me
