Did you do the oil change? Take it to the dealer my man.

Some reference.

https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...td-53-reg.html

I'm a little free at work today so i did some searching for you, you know what they say all clever people use Google.

Did you change spark plugs?
It has something to do with the ignition timing.

ive had lort issues with the multiair unit, twice changed.so i changed the oil before i have issues again.
30 000km for oil change..im gna do it every 15000km, the car runs so much smoother now, and is quieter.
i only changed oil n filter....

its a messup on multiecuscan...
i did the "oil change" on multiecuscan, its then asked to do the "uniair dispersion correction"

thats when i got the error...it cant be cleared.

Lance your response is from a JTD and this problem is for a petrol engine. It therefore cannot be spark plug related as diesels don't have spark plugs.

What software is giving you error code P1320? There seems to be no Alfa Romeo fault code with these numbers but for other manufacturers it could be anything from knock sensors to crank position to fuel trims.

Hi Ian. Nah it aint. I give a link to a possible scenario and then I read up on it again on a different forum (OBD2 codes) and it gave a "generic" explanation as to what that code means. I trust the OBD2 codes website as I've had OBD2 issues ever since I put that Novitec box on my car...but that's another story for another year.

Interesting.

I'll tell a story soon about something similar - My money is on knock sensors...gtv6zn is this the reason you want to flog the MQV?

its self inflicted- this came up after i plugged in multiecu scan and ran the OIL CHANGE command...
after completion it asks to to run ''uniair dispersion correction'' this caused the light to come on.
i know there is nothing wrong with the sensors..under parameters it shows 'uniair dispersion correction status - in progress"
i can log on to MES -check errors - switch ignition to off and F10(clear errors). it goes away. but once i switch off the car and start again after a while it comes up.
its gt something to do with the module learning....
P1320 uniair module learn.....
MES cannot clear it...

any idea where the ECM battery feed is?

@lance i wanted to flog it cause of the millage...and its out of warranty since March.

Generic explanation? I'm sorry, never heard of that before on P1 codes. P1 codes are make-specific. For example, choose 3 or 4 manufacturers and look up the same P code on this site lets see: http://datsc.com/tabid/123/Diagnosti...o/Default.aspx

See in the middle of this page it explains what each digit means and you will see P1 is make specific and NOT generic: http://www.troublecodes.net/obd2/

My second queery:

How can you trust a website because you have had issues? Did they help you resolve your issues or not? If not, why trust them? And if the novitec gave you issues the problem is with the novitec not with your car. Turn it down a bit. Besides, as mentioned above, that website just lied to you.

Most OBDII websites will give you various different codes for different makes of cars and the trusted ones I've checked have nothing for Alfa Romeo or Fiat petrol engines stated as P1320. If it is knock sensor related, how can it feature on a diesel engine which runs on knock?

I don't just trust any website, neither will I admit to trusting the ones that I do because trust is a personal issue

perhaps a proxi alignment will cure this? since it essentially learns all the modules and electronics that are present

Ok...where do i start. The site I used pointed me in the right direction, therefore I trust the source. For me and my errors, it explained all well and the symptoms made sense and worked, therefore i posted it for ZN...if it does not relate to his errors than so be it...Im not losing sleep or money, was just a suggestion as to what the error may be, the site sys it, perviously when I had error issues it related exactly to my error, so there is the reason.

Ok so you have an issue with the word trust? Ok rephrase, trust is a strong word to use especially abount content online, i agree

WRT the Novitec box...its been on 7 and gave errors, on 5 and gave errors on 6 and gave errors and even on a stock GQV and gave errors, lol didn't even allow the car to idle, but I'll get at that one soon.

I spoke to Jo. Take the car past and he will sort it. Be nice because dealers normally charge 540 plus vat.

Ps get multiecuscan 2.0. It does the reset the right way
