159 pulling!

Hi,
Just got a 159 (08) and have had it checked by garage and has been to two different places to get the alignment done and the car is still pulling to the left.

Does anyone know somwhere or somone who could fix this?

Welcome to AO & to the Irish Section, congrats on your 159, hope you get it sorted

Where are you so that someone can help give you a local recommendation.

In the meantime here's a list of recommended garages here that people have used which might be helpful https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/repub...suppliers.html

In Dublin , TI Autos is known as a reference when it comes to Alfa Romeo. They know their stuff really well, don't be surprised to find a lot of "mature Italian ladies" in their yard if you visit them

Have you checked the tire pressures? You might have a slightly deflated tire on the left, or an overinflated one on the right. Maybe even a slow puncture. It would be what I'd check first.

Next thing I can think about is wheel alignment; The 159 requires a 4 wheel alignment process, some garages either don't have the proper equipment or simply assume that, being yours FWD, it only needs the fronts aligned. Make sure to "casually" mention the 4-wheels alignment to the guys if you go to a tire place for an alignment check

Imbalance on the shocks would be my guess.

I'll wager one of them has been replaced, and the older one isn't up to the job.

Tire pressure is fine as tires are new and have had the 4 wheel alingment done twice now in two differant places!

Shocks could be an option, will get them looked at as car is still under warranty.

Thanks for all the advice.

Check either brake or handbrake isn't stuck 'on'! thus pulling car in to left.

When doing alignment the 'Toe' settings have been changed to parallel (zero) by Alfa Romeo AFTER the cars left the factory. Some alignment companies may still have factory settings... and not the revised ones?

Best of luck!

I have just found out this car was in a crash!
Have given it back and got refund but still out of pocket, not happy.

The car is up for sale again in the lusk area, 08 silver 159.

Anyone know where i could get another one?
