Alfa maintenance

Can I ask what products etc people have tried, tested and recommend to maintain interior and exterior of alfa e.g. for leather seats, dash, waxing etc etc..
Thanks

I usually use Meguiar's products. I like their liquid Tech Wax 2 as it goes on easy & is easy to remove & doesn't leave any residue, it probably isn't very durable though. Their quick detailer (Last Touch is the trade/bulk version) is also good & it can be used with a clay bar also.

I got this as a present last Christmas: Autoglym - car cleaning products, car care products, car valeting, car detailing

Quite a pricey kit, but it contains everything to cover tyres, bodywork (plastic & metal), glass, interior plastic and leather seats. It comes with a polish applicator, wheel brush and water blade. You're welcome to try some of mine I have way too much

I don't like their tyre dressing as it comes off in the rain.
I buy this stuff when in the US: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-DIAM...-/310261917695
It's a gel so needs applying with a foam applicator but lasts much longer per dressing and the you get ages out of a bottle not 4 applications like AutoGlym!
+1 on Meguiar's Tech Wax 2.0-again get it in the US where it's less than half the price...
I've had an almost as good as George (PendragonFalls) finish on my cars with it...
I've also taken to using Rainex: Rain-X 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner with Rain Repellent - Rain-X
Again US sourced but beads the rain the way your wax/polish does (don't need to use your wipers as much!)

All I need now is time to all or any of the above!!!!!

Meguiar's Tyre Endurance Gel used here also.
Last Touch detailer also works great on the windscreen to bead the rain, I tried Rain-X many years ago but I think they've updated it since.

Also more products here than regularly used

Spend 100, get free delivery. You also get points when you buy, worth saving them up to get a discount..

PMCG The CleanCar Experience

I was going to buy this but... out of stock
Kestrel DAS-6 Polisher Starters Kit

Some forums has a group buy for the above kit.
Would anyone be interested in talking to clean car to get the above starter kit... at a group alfa romeo ireland price?

Clean car only have a few das6 left in stock and when they ordered a new batch last week they were given a june date. They also said the supplier is not that good with timeliness so it may take longer.
He said if we could wait a bit then he would try and see what he could do.

So, its not that straight forward... thoughts?

Cleancar will offer a 10% discount of the starter kit (Kestrel DAS-6 Polisher Starters Kit) with free delivery. They will only do the deal when they have the items in stock and we need to come up with 10 names.

Its a savings of 16 Euro, but we will be waiting until June at the earliest before he gets any more stock in.
May not be worth the wait, I want my bella nice and shiney asap

That's a pity, buying the polisher and pads separately comes to almost €160, and that doesn't include the Menzerna polish pack or any of the other bits and bobs. June is a bit of a wait though, it also says the menzerna stuff is best suited to hard VAG paint, were probably as well off just buying the polisher separate and combining it with a good polish/ wax combo

Ya forgot to mention... the complete cost of the kit if you buy everything individually is 185, so getting it for 150 approx delivered to your door is pretty good.

I got the same kit a few months ago. Brilliant, and so easy to use.
I did the 156 with the heavy pad and the heavy polish.
Was worried about the paint being a bit soft, came up beautiful though.. :mygrin1:

I was looking for the details of the detailer here in Cork that Dermot mentioned, he'd already posted the link to CleanCar.ie

I don't think there is one in Cork.

Looking on boards.ie there are few good ones around, but the consensus is that if there were a few cars to be done a detailer may come down for the weekend. The other option is to bring your car up to them.

I had a good look for a detailer in Cork but couldn't find one recommended. Cleancar.ie actually do detailing themselves and have a really good reputation, but they are in wexford.

I remember a thread a while back started by Kris & it seemed finding a decent valeter let alone a detailer in Cork wasn't an easy task.
I saw CleanCar did detailing alright but only in a 50km radius, I was just wondering if a new company had started up in Cork after reading Dermot's post.
