Alfa Romeo 166 - Camber/Suspension problem

Hi,

I'm working on my new 166, changed all suspension parts front and back, literally everything including lowered spring and shocks. Now I have a problem with my back wheels sticking out to the outside so it looks terrible. Is there anyone who can help me in Dublin or maybe you know mechanic that knows how to fix it ?

I have read on the forums in here that there is a way after dropping the subframe but I wont be able to do it on my driveway

Is there any alfa specialist you would recommend ?

Yes, Gerry's probably the best option.

WRT the rear camber, I've had my 2.0 TS on Eibachs so it's lowered, and the rear caber is at 3, which is more than the recommended, but I don't feel it's affecting the handling and doesn't appear to contributing to tyre wear. There is a suggestion that the brackets on top of the subframe can be moved to reduce the setting, but it requires the frame being dropped and will be time consuming (lift car, drop frame, adjust brackets, tighten up frame, drop car, measure, repeat as necessary).

Just an FYI, last time I was in TI, they couldn't do the tracking on 17" wheels, but Gerry was planning to update his kit.

Ok, thanks, will give them a shout and see what they say. I have another 166 I'm dismounting at the moment so just in case I have loads of spare parts. I just got a bit nervous today. I was working outside for last 10 days on my new 166 and as I looked at the wheels I got a bit shocked.

I hope you mean "dismantling", coz that sounds a bit rude...

Yeah, dismantling Any way its the silver one that some of you where able to see on one of the meetings last summer. I had it all done, did a 4500km trip around Europe put a zender kit as well and 18 ATS alloys. Unfortunately the engine got fecked. So I got mi self a 'new" 166 with half of a milage than mine and with perfect engine, but suspension was all gone. I have ordered all suspension parts, brakes and brembo calipers as well and its on the road from yesterday. Few bits left now to do, but its drivable Will be fully done by the end of this year so Im hoping to bring it to one of our club meetings next year. Will post some pictures and tell the story in separate thread

I have some photos, few any way and will make few as well when the project is finished. If anyone need parts its the last chance because the car is going for a scrap yard tomorrow hopefully. The problem is that there is no one to take it without the wheels on and no interior

Any one wants to take it ?

I have leather seats black and 17 telephones almost for free

Buy and Sell in Ireland | Adverts.ie

Zender kit is not for sale unless someone gives me 'ridiculous' money for it I also have a ICS with GSM Phone but with no code, working fine, very cheap!

Some update

I have done the tracking/alignment. Lad from the garage said it 2.5degrees so its should pass the NCT with no problem. However I'm not sure. Any way will go for it asap and see what they say ant the NCT test center.

I still have the silver one with me. I can still get some parts off till someone be willing to take the car. Till now 5 people refused to take it. I have the set of 17in alloys telephones with some tread left on the tyres I let it go for 50e!!! 5 wheels ! 1 is suitable for spare only. Just help me to get rid of it I have a rear bumper in silver and lights with these silver stripes on the bottom, door cards, cd changer as well. Im willing to let it go very cheap.
