Car broken into ..

Hi lads,

Whilst in my graduation ceremony my car was broken into. Yer man smashed my driver's window with a stone and robbed an ancient mp3 player that you wouldn't get more than 30 quid for it.

My question is, do I replace it myself or go through insurance ?

Garage
Sorry to hear that Rob

Have you windscreen cover on your insurance policy ? usually all windows are covered & claiming shouldn't affect your no claims, check your own policy though.

I do have windscreen cover, but I'm afraid to lose my NCD if I claim off them... Sickens me, what people will do for a 30 quid mp3 player.

Guess my best bet is to ring them Monday morning, and see what they have to say

Really good outlook Rob. Serious scum out there really isnt there. Like it will be more effort getting and selling that than what he will get.

Gave Axa a call today, and the woman got all my details, and she said the claim line will give me a call tomorrow and go through the claim process. Anyway a new window is max 40 quid, so I might go down that route instead of claiming off them.

Will update this.

He doesn't

Anyways the window is fixed, but now there's a hole on the passenger's side door card where the rock hit it. I think I might have to replace the door card

Ah no, just seen this thread now, nasty luck, funny none of my alfas were ever touched, even one time when the cars parked either side of me where broken into.
I hope the mp3 player blew up in their hand and took a few of their fingers with it!
