Newbie in Ireland

Hi All,

Well having been a fleet driver for the past 9 years, things have changed & the time came to find my own vehicle. I have been an admirer of the Alfa brand from afar for a long while and although the majority of family, friends & well wishers said 'do not buy'...I bought this 159.

Now, I'm not a petrolhead & I am mechanically stupid but it checked out and seems in good condition. The only thing I would change soon is the steering wheel. It is well worn & I think it will annoy me soon. I noticed an Italian crowd called Black who specialize in Alfa parts but are they good, reasonably priced. Any advice on a new Multi function steering wheel is appreciated?

Lastly, I can't work out if my Bonnet grill badge is really, really worn or if (I'm hoping) Alfa did a chrome version?

Finally, what's this Alfa wave as I want to join in?!

Many thanks & hi again,

Karl

Welcome to the site Bernik, nice looking motor you got yourself there I have never heard of that Black place, if you do use them please let us know how you get on, besides that you might have some luck on partfinder.
The bonnet badge unfortunately if faded, I thought they may have had that issue sorted by the time the 159 came out but obviously not!

The Alfa wave is just a simple wave at other Alfa drivers, personally I avoid waving at the more popular models like 156s and 147s because you mostly get blank stares back!

Any more questions just shout

Enjoy Alfa ownership . I find myself driving about Alfa spotting .

Hi & Welcome to AO Bernik

That a great looking 159 you've got, well wear with it

IIRC the front badge isn't exactly cheap but do a search for Badge here Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider - Alfa Romeo Forum & you'll find a few useful threads.

Welcome aboard..!

Nice 159!

About the badge, you can do what I do and let people think that the chrome or de-coloured badge is some obscure model designation that only true Alfisti know about (even though we know that it just worn off paint..!)

Thanks for the welcome messages all!

I'll keep my eyes open for fellow AO on the road & I'll try the wave and see how I get on. Likewise, if any of you see me then give me a flash/wave.

I thought the badge had faded so I'll have a check around partfinder whilst looking for a steering wheel. I'll definitely use Cibo's line in the meantime!!!

This was the Blacks site I was referring to

Black - luxury accessories: Black steering wheel for your car

Well, off to drive my new toy now and have some fun!!!

She's a lovely looking car & looks well in Red which was one of the things that caught my eye. Managed to get the price down a little too.

I've clocked up 400klm since Friday and love driving it...has a bit of poke in her too. Plus it seems ok on juice so far which is a bonus!
