She looks great, but as a novice I'd be apprehensive about a car due a timing belt change. How much would that be likely to cost?

Depends on who you get I suppose. Dealer would be way more than a small garage. However you shouldn't really go to a small garage unless they are kinda known to be good for alfa's?

Maybe some of the lads here could suggest a local garage near you and give you a quote? I usually get mine as part of a full service and I'd pay about 600. So I think for my the belt change works out at about 400??? I'm not positive though as the last belt change was 2 years ago.

Regards being a novice... there is some fab info here, and if you do end up buying an alfa you'll soon become an expert on belt changes

Gimme some sugar baby!

ps like I said in the other advert, I was planning on just getting it passed the NCT next march and then the I was going to get the belt changed later in the year... split the cost like
The first timing belt change was at 47k, I did the next at 36k later but I'd feel happy with the car pushing it out a bit, but its up to you and what you feel happy with.

She looks lovely , cant understand how I havent seen it around .

According to your TB change there seems to be about 8K miles left on the belt but Ti Auto's would be the guys to go to in dublin , they will give him a good price for TBelt .. Good luck with the sale

We'll try and look after her up here in the pale... and she shouldn't feel too out of place, she's in the Leinster colours after all
