AO Ireland - Killarney Meet July 2012

Alright AOers

I think it's time we had a Killarney meet, taking in the classic Moll's Gap & Healy Pass rally stages

We can meet up in the Tesco car park in Killarney between 11 & 12 (nearer 12 will do now as it's locals only who appear to be attending) for a chat & maybe a quick bite to eat before departing. Then on to Moll's Gap possibly stopping for a few mins at Ladies View & again at the Gap itself for a few pics.

From there it's on to Kenmare where depending what people want we can stop for a meal or head straight onto the start of the Healy Pass where there's a lay-by at Lauragh where we can again stop for a few mins before starting up the Pass.

Once we get down to the end of the Pass we can stop at the school just before Adrigole & either head for Castletownbere or Glengariff for a meal if that's what people want or else just head home from there.

Here's a Google Map of the suggested route.

Anyway hopefully it'll be a good day out with plenty Alfas in attendance
David.

PS If anyone who is heading to Killarney wants my number send me a PM.

The haul from Killarney to Molls Gap is a real suspension killer. I did it a couple of times back in March and my fillings are still rattling.

Anyone else ? We've had a good turnout & a good day out on our trips to Kerry so hopefully it'll be another good one.

I've had good luck with the 33 so far, but I don't want to push my luck driving it to killarney! Looks a great spot though.

This was my first mental weekend away in the 33. I'll never forget being first down the pass, loud pedal buried in the rust, with Dave Nolans 166 glued to my boot lid

I'll also never forget losing a driveshaft coming into some tiny village on the wrong side of cork five hours from home and having to MacGyver the thing back together outside a church when d'locals were heading in to have a bit of an aul pray.

The 09 run was a class weekend, wish I could afford the juice to do it again
