Cry Like A Baby RIP my Ally

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to mourn the passing of my Ally who, last night on the gorey bypass , passed away by catastrophic engine failure ie seized. There was no signs of what was happening so I like to think she didn't suffer she just stopped as I was passing a layby thought maybe a battery lead had come loose but when a kind motorist stopped to give me a jump start did I realise there was no movement in the t-belt or anything and then the starter burning out that she was in fact seized. Sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. RIP Ally

Oh!

Think of her driving on marble roads, meandering among cloudy mountains up to the perily gates...

Hopefully it might not be 'that bad'... wonder if the starter motor is the problem itself. I've seen a VW Passat and VW Golf starter motors issues where the motors seem to be mechanically connected permanently to the flywheel.. not pretty but 2nd hand motor and the cars were fine afterwards... it's just a thought.

Keeps us posted... fingers crossed!

Neighbour of mine has a 01 1.8ts. Cam belt snapped when he was at Knock airport. I was always telling him to let me and Damian do his work etc....he never paid any heed to me. A gorgeous Rosso red 156 with Tobacco leather interior.... Seemingly been offered €250 for the car....I 'd say he'd get a good few more shillings if he broke it for parts

It is sad, all the more when a fella has spent time and money looking after his car...

Haha I meant more like it was a real obituary piece!!
It is sad though. Hopefully its not dead completely, might be a smaller problem than it looks!!

Thank you all for your kind words they mean a lot to us at this sad time.. Removal will prob be tonight I'm gonna try get her back home and take her apart ... Anybody looking for a nice tan leather interior and some lovely 16" zenders? It's what she would have wanted ! I'm not too pushed on selling them cos I have my eye on a nice 02 156 that has black leather and teledials and might sell them instead please don't judge me for moving on too soon
