Just worked it out.. :0(

Got the Spider 30th August last year, for 2k..
So, exactlly 7 months on. I have spent the same again, getting it sorted out..
And, that's not including tax or insurance.

If Mrs PDF knew what I'd spent, I'd be living in the thing by now... :mygrin1:

Alfas..? They're a disease, I tells ya. A heartbreaking/heartwarming/heart-wrenching disease.

13 years ago somebody went out and bought me a beautiful 60 grand alfa romeo..

they just kept it to themselves for 10 years, then gave it to me for the price of a years motor tax

Just compare them to the residuals of new cars though .....then pat yourself on the back and tell yourself there's no fool like a new car fool.

I was talking to my mechanics bodyshop guy today getting a quote to have the entire car from the mirrors back resprayed/undented, then I got to thinking it would be nice to refurb the alloys, and respray the entire beast. I'm currently getting a few quotes

The entire of it doesn't need respraying tbh, but having paid peanuts for it, by the time I'm finished I'll have spent three times what I spent on it getting it right.

So so worth it though, anytime I deal with a motoring professional they admire the car lol

After the bodywork, it's the leather on the drivers seat, my work is never done!

I think I did a quick calculation that I spent around 7000 in 5 years on the 166.

Should I double check tonight lest there's a steward's enquiry?
