Something for the weekend

This Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th in Ballyvaughan some of the fastest machinery in Ireland will compete on The Corkscrew Hill, and Ballyallaban Hill...

The ever spectacular Simon McKinley will be there with his Lant RT2, Sylvie Mullins in his V8 Judd Gould GR37, Paul 'OConnell in his Pilbeam Hart Dermot Nolan in his Reynard P873, Rory Stephens in his Radical SR3, and Ian Quinn in his Mini Busa, just to mention a few...

Last year Simon McKinley covered the 2.2 miles of Ballyallaban Hill in 93.56sec... now that's fast in any man's language...

If you can, I highly recommend having a look..both hills start around 10:30 am both days..

I'll be there with the clicker as usual...

Christ I always manage to miss this.
Corkscrew Hill is one of my favorite drives in the whole country stunning views from the top, epic hairpins all the way down. Love it.

Hmm, sounds like a plan, what way is parking down that way Mjet and getting to the stage?

From Ballyvaughan head out by the petrol station and church and you'll run right into The Corkscrew. There's parking at the very top of the hill, but its limited...

On Sunday you'll head out the same way to Ballyallaban and take the left up to Ailwee caves, parking is no problem on Ballyallaban. Best place to view is from the carpark...

Ya a Formula Vee got sucked into the slight right before the left hander after the start..

He clobbered the the left hander, punctured and flipped over..only pride hurt..Vee needs a new front Rack and wheel....typical Ballyallaban accident...

That first left-hand corner is tricky, if you get it wrong you're heading for the bushes...

Next round is the MEC over in the Naul in Dublin 12/13 May
