endangered species list

Alfas on the road in Ireland (RoI) at 31st December 2011;

Brera - 62
Spider - 52
Mito - 111
GTV - 23
GT - 389
Giulietta - 132
145 -- 42
146 - 174
147 - 928
155 - 25
156 - 2558
159 - 723
164 - 7
166 - 31

Other - 634

Total 5891

That's on-the-raod figures, so there may be a few more parked up around the place. However if you fancy some of the rarer ones you might want to pounce if you come across a nice one.. the motortax is slowly killing them off sadly, and it's unlikely the revised system will be any better for "luxury" cars like these

23 GTVs? 31 166s? Seems very low. I'm guessing that the 'Others' includes the likes of GTVs and 166s?

What's the source Mick?

..the figures are from a good source and there's no skulduggery involved, but i'd rather not say on a public forum.

Anyhow, for instance, alfa sold around 400 166s, 400 164s, 400 155s... and around 7000 156s.
Last time we checked this (around 3 years ago i think) there were around 40 166s left and 20 164s, so the numbers above aren't that surprising sadly..

"other" would also include classics.. there's even no mention of the 33 there for instance.

If 25 is correct then I have processed 33% of ALL the 155's registered in ROI

I know of the where abouts of 3 155's & I know of 2 others thats not on the road. I know of one man has at least 2 more 155's.

others:
156 GTA?
147 GTA?
33? I have one & know of another.
75? I have 3
RZ?
SZ?

those numbers are very conservative.

Mick actually said Alfas "on the road", thats taxed cars I presume, if I recall from your done deal ad the one you have is for parts? unless its a different one?
my 33 wasnt taxed or insured then but is now but my 75 has neither

Be interesting to see a more comprehensive breakdown, like the amount of GTA's, 3.0/3.2 166's etc..

I see, very good, so I am 'part of an Elite Group' also or the
'eventually be driven of the road by high fuel and biased road tax and or a lack of spares Group'

I'd imagine they would be fairly accurate. Majority of cars I see in Dublin never have any tax. I know a load of people that never bother taxing a car. I've only ever seen one check point on the southside of the city in the near on 2 years I've been there for. And I do mental mileage all over Dublin.

166's are rare enough in Dublin and the fact that the V6's are near on a k to tax I'd imagine people do their annual 3 months for the year.

155 ---47-----------25
156 ---4507---------2558
159 ---535----------723
164 ---20-----------7
166 ---42-----------31
Brera --64----------62
GT ----372----------389
GTV ---34 ----------23
Other -1039---------634
Spider -84----------52

Yeah figure tax is the issue here.

Don't mean to pry into the source, but imagine it's official. And I'd say many people are using the 'form' so there will always be a few cars that don't show up. But only 31 166s on the road? Wow. I feel privileged!

its a shame ot think that a very decent 164 was recently sent to the crusher becuase a man didn't have space for it. Jaysus i would have collected it just to keep on the lawn. My friend had wanted it but changed his mind, he has too many cars in his place already.

PDF also disposed of one recently

I had an outdoor space sorted for him but with his daily driver giving him grief that day it just didn't work out....

Yup I was sick about that 164 going, thanks again rory for the offer of space. I had it up here for a bit, and thought someone would have it but in the end I just ran out of time. Had the trailer, had it up on the trailer, and my lights blew...
The tow bar is for sale w/out the shorted switching unit.
