50 yoyo's for a spare key..??

Is that good/bad/indifferent..?

Got one cut yesterday from these guys.

Crothers

Nice lad in the shop, gave me the new key, and the old one, and let me walk back to the car to test the new one. Could have just drove away without paying.. He'd have been none the wiser.

Just as well I'm an honest chap..

Does it have an Immobiliser chip in it? if YES then its very good value

or does it just open the door?

I assume it doens't have the RCL function.

Its got some kind of "chip" in it, but no RCL button.
Saying that, mines got aftermarket alarm anyway, so the button on the key never worked. :mygrin1:

Very good value, but what model was it for ? Could they do the same for a 147/156/GT key for example.

I rang before I went. They said bring your key in, and they'll tell you straight away.
He put the key into a machine, and said yes.
I think if your key is code1, its doable. Code2 and its off to the dealer.
Look on the blade of the key. You'll see a little "raidio wave" symbol. If there's no number beside it, then its a code1. If it has a 2, then its (you've guessed it) a code2..

Hi
I need a spare black 3 button key for a 2001 147TSpark.
I am in Australia and here they are charging about $400 for a new key & $85 to program it.
Can your friend supply one and if not do you know any one that can at a reasonable price.

If I get a blank one I will still have to take it in to get cut then to the dealer for programming.

No, he'd need your key to copy it.

I was in Crothers on Thursday last week to get new key for my 146 as it broke off in the boot lock, he wanted €55 for new key, a blue Fiat one at that. I have the spare key and I also have the broken key with the chip, he said he would just transfer the chip over to the new key, I thought €55 for a poxy blue Fiat key was a bit rich so I left it. Ordered a proper red Alfa key of fleebay for €12 inc P&P and Crothers will cut and transfer the chip for €22. Boooyay!!
