Motorway Manners..?!?!?

Would you lot just get some...FFS..!! :myrant: :myrant: :myrant: :myrant: :myrant:

When the speed limit is 120kmh
When you're poodling along at 100kmh, in the middle lane..
Then when there's "another" numpty in front of you, doing 99kmh

"DO NOT TRY TO PULL INTO THE OVERTAKING LANE, WITHOUT INDICATING, OR EVEN BOTHERING TO LOOK, WHILE I AM ALONG SIDE OF YOU..!".

THEN YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SOUND YOUR HORN AND GIVE ME THE FINGER, WHEN IT WAS "YOU" WHO ALMOST HIT ME...FFS..!!!

It pains me to say it, but they were both female drivers...!

p.s. If you had of been a bloke, I'd have chased you home and given you a sound thrashing..

Rant over, just glad I'm here to relate it to you all. I was certainly "touching cloth" for a second...

Mine too?! Post gone!

EDIT : Retyped post....

After driving for nearly quarter of a century I've formed the opinion that driving is a bit like the 'bumper cars' in the merries/fairground.... You drive around with your head rotating like the girl from the Exorcist movie trying to avoid others around you... .Wheeeeeeeeeee!! If you can drive for 30 minutes in a built up area with less than two near misses at roundabouts then it's a good day!

I'll just leave this link here for future Google searches..... http://www.rotr.ie/rules-for-driving...undabouts.html

Anyway, for me it's the lads that accelerate while you're overtaking that gets me... Well done, you're sound lads What a nice thing to do to someone. There is nothing like an opposing articulated truck to get the adrenaline juices flowing...

I know that motorways are still somewhat of a novelty here, but..!

Woman on the hard shoulder of the N9 the other week, running between the traffic to get to the central reservation.

Why..?

So she could take a picture of the "empty" field opposite..

It beggars believe..!

2 thing reallt irk me,

1. people travelling at 90kph in a 120 zone ....WHY ?????????

2. at night people driving the opposite direction with their FULL headlights on. I'm very tempted to mount a spot light on the roof of the Jeep just to blind those ignorant cnuts.......!!!!!!

Watch out for tractors on the M9 down your way as well George.

I assume your reference to the middle lane means that you were on the M50. This isn't really a motorway but some kind of twilight zone where nothing is ever as it seems...

The M50 is the worlds most useless piece of road ever. Due to the fact dublin cannot drive at all in anything other than the N11 or the N81.

I've experienced all of the above too.
One thing that's happened me a few times in more recent years are cars in the left lane driving around the roundabout-bad news if you are to the right of them!!!
Cathal you must be as old as me if you're driving 25 years!!!

That's where it splits into 2 lanes with no warning which is bloodly dangerous. And typical of Ireland.

Exactly. It wasn't as if the road was busy. I came up behind those two, and I was in the inside lane (where I should be). Had to cross two lanes, to overtake properly.
The car that cut me up was at least a quarter mile from the one in front of her.
I didn't think for a second she'd move over to where I was. I got such a bleedin' shock, I was hunched up ready for the "crunch".. How she missed me is a miracle..
