Wave Howdy all

Hi all

Just signed up Long time VAG/Fiat fanboy and I'm about to pick up my first Alfa on Monday, I can't wait!!!!!!
Inspired by pictures Mr Damien_C posted over on Octane I bought a Black 146 1.4 2000. Mechanically the car is tip top Belt, Tentioners and pumps all done 5 months ago, suspension too even the gearbox oil was done which is a first for any car I've bought.
I took the car nice a long test drive on Friday all the while trying to conceal the huge smile on my face, its really did feel fantastic.

My only regret is waiting until now to buy an Alfa, all those wasted years in Fiat, Ford, Toyota, VW, Skoda, Nissan, Renault, Audi and Opel........ still I'm only 30, plenty of time

Well I picked it up last night and I am truly delighted with it.

Only had time for a quick phone pic in the work car park.

First job for the week is to remove the quite frankly awful white lettering on the tyres. Then out with the buffer and hoover for a bit of detailing ( weather permitting )
I'll get a few more pics after that. But for now here it is........

Very nice Gav. My first Alfa was a 146Ti and it never let me down. Cracking cars.

I agree with you - the white lettering has to come off. Only looks ok on American muscle cars IMHO.

What buffer will you be using, rotary or DA? That colour should come up absolutely beautiful.

You could paint the "N" into a "W" though... Now that would look good...

Yeah sorry lads the white letters are total kat IMO.
I had a Halfrauds one I think it cost Ä50 a couple of year back but its knackered now so I'm going to get a buffer head for my power drill which has adjustable speed and torque.

That's part of the problem not only does it look crap but they are crap rubber too Kingstar on the front and Nankang on the rear, its like getting a tattoo of every fat bird you have ever ridden - its fine but don't brag about it.......

Dont encourage them !

well wear with the 146 GavTS , as said they are quite an underrated car . Loved the 146 Junior I had in 1999, first proper car I drove, and have driven nothing but Alfa's since
