Had fully intended this morning to replace the wing mirror, then I saw the length of the cabling coming off the new one, I am afraid now I may have to take the door card off...what do you think folks??
Might be best to take door card off.
Allow yourself a decent bit of time for that.
I recently changed the door cards in my 166, quite a few Phillips screws, one 4mm allen key bolt (behind door opening handle) and 4 torx bolts (T40 I think) 2 at the back of the door speaker and two when you remove the electric window switch/cubby hole.
One of the screws hides behind a stopper in the lower storage area towards the back end of the door and another behind the 'donut' for the ventilation at the top front end.
Donut spins to unlock (can't remember if clockwise or anti but you should find out handy enough).
Not all of the block connectors slide off either, some require you to push down a tab to release it.
If you do have a door speaker and it's the same as mine you use a small flat screw driver to gently prise off the bright surround for speaker and then a bigger flat screwdriver to pop out speaker. Putting it back you need to clock where the semi-circle that sticks out is as you need to find that gap when putting it back-you can'y just slap it in any old way...
If you have the bottom door light that needs prising out the rear side I think so you can remover the tabbed block connector.
Suffice it to say it's messier than you think!!!
After all that typing it will probably be completely different!!!
Might help someone though eh?
