Nice update! Lacken does it really matter the connection?
I've a shrewd guess as to it, but we really do like Gerry and David on here.
Customer of 20 (very happy) years...

To be honest it does cos if the english see this I would imagine the thread will be locked because they have a rule somewere you have to pay to advertise. But I sure as hell aint going to be locking this at all. TI Autos are gents to deal with and Gerry is the man when it comes to Alfa's and really any cars in general.

If this is the case, why is it allowed to post details of dealers and repairers you'd recommend. Is that not 'advertizing'

Of course anyone can say or recommend who they have had work on their car etc. There are many recommendation threads including "Stickies" in GAD
& many of the Regional Lounges for both Dealers & Independents, which are very useful resources

No of course not because those are "recommendations" not " advertisements"

As I've said elsewhere before there isn't a "no advertising" rule, however you do need to be an Authorised Trader to advertise on AO.
More info here Alfa Romeo Forum - FAQ: Trader Advice

If you want to advertise on AO you need to pay to do so, if you don't want to pay to do so then don't advertise, simple really.

It costs money to run a forum even more so for one as big as AO & the revenue from Traders/Paying Members helps to keep AO running
& also keeps AO mostly an advert/banner free forum

PS I don't think Ti need to worry about posting adverts as they are always the 1st recommendation for anyone in the area.

Just like to say that T.I. Autos Gerry and David are some of the best in Dublin, Gerry is a true gent.. I was nearly ripped off to the cost of 1400 quid by an Alfa main dealership, wont mention any names....but they are on the SOUTHSIDE, scum if you ask me, brought it to them for the sake of convenience as was having some misfire probs and it needed a service, so wanted a diagnostic check for the misfires - got a call to later that evening to say that basically my engine was F**cked and need a new head gasket, for the nice cheap price as mentioned above. to say that phone call caused me so much stress is an under statement.. serious money issues at the time and needed my car badly to earn the money, fair enough they where right about my suspension problems.. but when Gerry got under the hood found out that there where 3 diff make off sparkplugs in there ALL corroded past the point off no return, and the lads in SOUTHSIDE charged me 160 euro, in my opinion for nothing... no diagnostics didnt check the plugs dont even know if they did the oil and filter tbh.. they told me the mechanic was afraid to take on a test run after the service because the car was so bad... ********. Brought to Gerry and the car is now running unbelievably good nothing wrong with the headgasket at all !! If Gerry and Dave do read this forum - THANK YOU GUYS (and i will be in sometime soon Gerry for my brakes and service to be done and also the old B1 and B2 problem )

..yeah saw the 1750. It seems to have been a very nice car to begin with, but he's doing some serious work on it so it looks like it's going to be a peach
