The air bag light and the abs light are not comin on, when i took the circut board out the air bag light was covered with black tape and the abs light was broken out, would gettin a new circuit board fix the problem as the nct failed over this problem, i have an alfa romeo 156, 99

Hi & Welcome to AO Brendan

No idea but hopefully someone will be able to help you, it might be useful to say what Alfa you have.

i'd guess both systems have errors on them and therefore they have been tampered with. Replacing the central info centre is the 1st step toward fixing the issues. The ABS either has a faulty sensor or a blown 50/60amp fuse near the battery. The airbag system most likely needs an ECU or a reset. Both systems need diagnostic'.

a '99 alfa needs its own protocol, KWP2000, to communicate with it. standard OBD readers won't connect. Laptop + KKL interface + Alfadiag or Unidiag/KWP71 required.
