The Ao 24th of Sept Meet Aftermath.

As always thank you all for making the effort in coming to the meet today was great to get a good number of cars there. Again we have had 2 mint 166's turning up. And for the first time we had a V8 and straight 6 at the meet And it wouldn't be an Alfa meet with out Frank's to be fair very quick(when running ) 33 without kicking up a bit of fuss but thankfully it was all sorted handy enough and you could hear that flat 4

Thanks to the lad with the beemers turning up in their Metal. That M3 is proper fast and Dave's V8 sounds great too. See not all Alfa drivers are boring and not all beemer heads are ignorant And to frank for bringing the GTA as always the sound off the Busso V6 with a proper exhaust on it sounds how Alfa intended it should sound until all these noise reg's came in. Good man on George on turning up in his mid life crisis as it shall be known as now And to Eddie and Mick in the 166's and to Paul in the old mans old 147 was great to see it. Good to finally meet yourself Rory bud shame about the sud though would have nice to have a nose about it next time I'm sure it will be there. And to Jon in the Julie I think that has to be most used Giuiletta ever And to Rob as always for turning up and to Mark in the 155 was great to see one of them out again. And to the Chap with 159 very nice car man embarassingly I am after forgetting your name

We were haunted with the weather to be fair too. Shame the drive to Carlow was a bit crap due to the lorry and the worlds slowest van driver. But on the way back made up for it thankfully not so much traffic.

Well I got 305miles outta my tank which is a pretty crap 27.1mpg

Holy bat poo the camouflage worked on the landie as damien you never saw it :-* but poor Marlow coming done in the coolest retro car there.... an audi 200 avant all the way from roscommon but then he probably had a good run home in a straight 5 turbo and no mention :-( . It was great talking to some folk but didnt get to talk to everyone but there is always the next meet. I thaught we were going off for photos but everyone was gone.... But i could have brought the landie as it was a slow run with the truck etc and not too far at all so would have only cost a fiver in diesel:-)

Its at "Duckets Grove". One of Carlows unsung attractions.
Imagine if we'd had all 11 Alfas that were there today, parked up on that grass..?
Its the stuff calenders are made of...

Well I stuffed up again. I could say there was a localised earthquake cutting off the roads where I live but if I'm honest family crap took precedent again

After the family crap I finally removed the engine and box from the 145 as a kind of salute to you lot... I'll make the next one spiders looking well george

As Frank suspected it was the hose across the block that burst (coolant everywhere!)
I got an interim fix in place and then the alternator stopped working!!!
Back in the garage for hibernation so it will be spring before you see that one (Damo)...
Good to meet everyone today
