Hi all...have a 2007 159 MPI and thinking of switching to a 159 JTD...what are diesels like to drive?

We've both a petrol and a diesel 159. If I'm honest the diesel is a better everyday car to live with. And it's cheaper to run etc.

As regards driving there is plenty of usable power.. you don't have to drop a gear to overtake. 1st gear is the usual diesel take off...
2nd onwards it's great. Clutch feels heavier than the petrol.

IMO the 1.9JDTm is quite refined too. When up to temp and up to speed you don't even hear it..

Test drive one to be sure for yourself.. it's a good unit.

I've read about pricey clutch, EGR & DPF issues. But it's a personal call I guess in our case my car is the petrol and I do little mileage but my wife does 40 to 60 miles a day so it had to be a diesel.
