Bearly recognised your car without it's clothes on!

That's some job in all fairness. When you said a respray I didn't realise you ment that level o work. Looks like it's easy to get at the belts with the wings off too.

Was their any nasty surprises under the wings? Is the last pict just surface?

Best of luck with the rebuild.

Fair play to you Dermo. Keep us updated. When do you expect it to be finished?

It's very hard to match black perfectly, but based on the effort going into this it will look great when it's finished.
I'm a little bit worried though because of the amount of imperfections/fillings on that door.

I wouldn't be worried Levente the lad that is doing it is a perfectionist he painted a good few of our cars before it will look great. All the rust is just brackets and surface nothing more it's solid underneath thank god.

No nasty surprises , just standard rust on brackets of the bumper/wing assembly. There all being replaced with shiney new ones (even though i have a doner car elswhere ) . The guy said its fairly common as when the water gets in it has nowhere to go and lodges between the wing and bumper.

As you know the doors are stainless steel , the fillings are actually inperfections in the manufacturer that the guy who's doing the work was not happy with and he is a perfectionist.

I will make sure to park it next to yours

I will try and get proper pics of the stages up here . They are doing the rust (underneath which is not structural) in four stages , ending with wax and shultz (if thats the right spelling ) so should be better than new.

As to matching Black . He matched Damien's 146 nuoro fouca to perfection .. But we will see.

I resemble that remark..

That bonnet release mechanism is off, if you want it. Is Damien still working around Carlow? He could pick it up before your 166 gets put back together..? Just a thought..
